Use this guide to find the amiibo features in the games below. Follow the game's prompts and use a compatible amiibo. For Guoxd V1 controls and on-device operations, see the User Manual.
This guide describes Nintendo's game features. It does not establish that every listed console, controller, game, or amiibo function has been tested with Guoxd V1. Guoxd V1 compatibility across these combinations remains to be confirmed.
Compatible Devices
The original source lists these Nintendo systems with amiibo support. This is a hardware overview, not an independently verified Guoxd V1 compatibility list.
- Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch – OLED Model: Scan at the right stick on the right Joy-Con. On a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, use the NFC touchpoint over the Nintendo Switch logo near the top center of the controller—not its right stick.
- Nintendo Switch Lite: Use the right stick as the NFC touchpoint.
- Wii U: Use the NFC touchpoint on the Wii U GamePad.
- New Nintendo 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS XL, and New Nintendo 2DS XL: These systems have a built-in NFC reader beneath the lower screen.
- Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL, and Nintendo 2DS: A Nintendo 3DS NFC Reader/Writer accessory is required.
The software must also support the amiibo you want to use. Nintendo Switch Pro Controller NFC is unavailable while using wired communication. Follow the relevant controller's instructions. Nintendo Switch 2 compatibility with Guoxd V1 has not been established in the supplied material.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
These controls describe the Nintendo Switch version.
Step 1 — Unlock the amiibo rune
Progress through the opening of the game until the amiibo rune becomes available. Progress and reward availability can vary; this guide does not promise an unlock time or specific item drop.
Step 2 — Enable amiibo
- Open the menu with +, then use R to reach System.
- Open Options and set amiibo to Use amiibo.
- Return to gameplay.
Step 3 — Scan
- Press Up on the directional controls and choose the amiibo rune.
- Close the selection menu and press L.
- Position the glowing target on the ground where you want items to appear.
- Scan at your controller's NFC touchpoint when prompted.
Important notes
Each amiibo normally has one use per day, per Nintendo Account. Rewards vary and some drops are random. A scan does not guarantee a particular item. Nintendo Switch 2 Edition has additional ZELDA NOTES functionality; these instructions do not cover that edition.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
These controls describe the Nintendo Switch version.
Step 1 — Unlock the amiibo ability
Continue through the opening of the game until amiibo functionality is available. An exact shrine requirement or unlock time has not been established here.
Step 2 — Enable amiibo
- Press + to open the pause menu and use R to reach System.
- Open Options, select the amiibo setting, and enable it.
- Press B to return through the menus to gameplay.
Step 3 — Scan
- Hold L to open the ability selector.
- Select the amiibo icon and release L to activate it.
- Aim the glowing indicator at the intended landing spot.
- Scan at the controller's NFC touchpoint when prompted.
Important notes
Each amiibo normally has one use per day, per Nintendo Account. Rewards may include materials, weapons, and themed paraglider fabric. Some items appear randomly, so a particular reward is not guaranteed. Nintendo Switch 2 Edition includes additional ZELDA NOTES functionality outside this guide's scope.

This game is available now. Compatible The Legend of Zelda-themed amiibo can provide smoothie ingredients and certain alternate outfit colors.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
- Launch the game.
- From the main menu, select Games & More.
- Select amiibo.
- Follow the onscreen prompts to scan a compatible amiibo at your controller's NFC touchpoint.
The available feature depends on the amiibo. Follow the game carefully when registering or saving data. Guoxd V1 support for individual read/write workflows still requires device testing.

Splatoon 3
Steps
- Go to the amiibo box at the back of the square in Splatsville.
- Stand in front of the box and press A.
- Scan a compatible amiibo at the NFC touchpoint.
- If prompted, complete amiibo registration and scan again.
- Follow the prompts to befriend the character. Scan again when the game requests it.
- Follow the game's instructions for gifts, saved gear and settings, or photos.
Additional Notes
Compatible amiibo include Splatoon-series figures and the Super Smash Bros.-series Inkling. You may need to play more battles and return for further scans to receive all available gifts. Repeated scans alone do not guarantee immediate access to every reward.
The game can save gear and settings to compatible amiibo. This is a game feature; Guoxd V1's behavior in these save and registration workflows still requires testing. Read any reset or overwrite prompt before accepting it.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
This guide covers campsite visits and Photopia. These are not the game's only amiibo features. Availability depends on your game version, island progress, and the character you scan.
Inviting Villagers to the Campsite
First, progress through Tom Nook's island-development requests until Resident Services is a building and the campsite invitation feature becomes available. If the option is missing, continue the island-development and first-camper requests.
- Interact with the Nook Stop inside Resident Services.
- Select Invite a camper, then confirm the invitation.
- Scan a compatible amiibo when prompted. Complete any registration prompts.
- If the game offers more than one character, choose the one to invite.
- Visit the campsite and talk to your guest.
- To invite an eligible camper to move in, return for additional visits, complete their requests, and follow the game's housing prompts.
Not every character can move to your island. The character and game determine the available options. A single scan does not guarantee a new resident.
Harv's Island: Photopia
Talk to Harvey when he visits your island to unlock travel to Harv's Island. Visit through the airport, enter the photo studio, and follow the in-game instructions to arrange a scene and invite characters with amiibo.
You can arrange furniture, lighting, and characters for your photographs. Nintendo's update notes confirm support for all Animal Crossing-series amiibo in Photopia; older reports that Reese, Cyrus, and Rover cannot appear are outdated.
Character posters can be unlocked through Photopia and ordered through Nook Shopping. Check the game's available poster selection after your visit.
